BODY MOVEMENT
There are many definitions of movement. But I like to thinkof body movement as a human quality and its connection to health.
Movement is linked to an intimate connection with our bodies and their expressive potential through free, creative action in interaction with the physical and social world.
Through our muscles, combined with our body’s complex perception, motor expression is psychomotor in nature, meaning that every movement involves memory, culture, feelings, ideas, and social relationships.
Movement is a human quality that embodies vitality—such as facial expressions, the way we walk, and dancing… And each of us has our own unique way of organizing and expressing it.
Furthermore, it is connected to our emotions. And when we cannot express them freely, they become trapped in our stiff muscles, preventing us from moving fluidly and healthily, as Therese Bertherat pointed out. We all, therefore, need to get our bodies moving in order to achieve the health and well-being that are so essential for maintaining a balance between mind and body.
Antigym® involves gentle, subtle, precise, and exact movements that help you develop a deeper, more accurate, and more independent awareness and understanding of your body.
